Renegade north Daisy
DOB: 6/20/2015
2016 - young stock - VVE overall V
2017 - VEV+ FS87 @ 02-01
Daisy is daughter of SG The JWJ Pickles Tulip 1*M - "Deja". Deja is my most productive Nigerian doe, ranking in the 97th percentile on the August 2017 and December 2017 Elite doe list. Daisy was among the last of my goats to be appraised in the young stock program and one of the last appraised by one of ADGA's greatest linear appraisers (IMO). When I asked for breeding recommendations for this promising doe, the response took me off guard - her FULL brother. It was explained that they were complete opposites, where she was weak, he was strong. I was asked if I had a problem culling in the case of serious defects, no... ok, then do it. How could I NOT listen to that kind of experience?! I was told to keep the kids, most notably the bucks, and use them... if I "was lucky", they would "cookie cutter awesome". Alas, it was not meant to be, at least this year. While I got two bucks and a doe, the buck I intended to keep died of pneumonia at a few weeks old. The other made it long enough to be registered but also died of pneumonia at 4 months old. In both cases, it was extremely fast acting... bouncing in the morning, dead by evening. Maybe they were just not genetically fit in that manner. The 2017 doe, Jennifer, is strong and promising.
Daisy's 2018 boyfriend is another line-breed, this time her half sister's son (5.56% line breed, 3.13% on Deja). Daisy has a fabulously FLAT and wide rump, I am hoping Prince can sharpen her shoulder and add some height to her kids.
